And the worst blogger award goes to…

September 19, 2007

ME!!!
I can’t believe it’s been this long since I posted. I guess summer was kind of crazy!
I’ve been keeping myself busy with the digital album track workshop. (And yes Stella, you will be able to take part in it, I’ll post the details when I have them.) We’re also still trying to renovate our attick. We had the stairs put in a few weeks ago and we put windows in the roof during our vacation. We hope that the boys can be up there sleeping by the end of the year, but we still have a lot of work to do first.

Of course the boys had to ‘help’ with the renovation:

Fantacy tagged me to write seven unique things about me, so here it goes.

1. I live in the Netherlands, at about a 20 minute drive from Rotterdam (which isn’t unique between all those other people living here, but look at the current digi scrap community and it is :) )
2. I’m a Cystinuric. I have a kidney disfunction called cystinuria, which causes me to constantly develop kidney stones. In hopes of developing as little of them as possible, I have to pour down at least a gallon of water every day. Hence you get this image:

3. This Saturday I will be married to my hubby for 7,5 years! We married exactly 10 months after we met, when I just turned 20. Yes, we were quick, but we never regretted it!
4. I’m the mommy to Aydin (5) and Yared (3). Two bright, cheerful and especially ENERGETIC boys.
5. When I was 16, I spent a year living in Oklahoma, where I lived with a hostfamily and attended High School in ‘Hickville’ Morrison. (Which is why a little bit of southern dialect sometimes seeps through, lol)
6. It was during that year in the US that I became a christian.
7. The hostfamily I lived with is still like family to me. We visited them last year and the boys call her Mema and him Opa Ron.

Now, I think I’m supposed to tag a few other people to write 7 unique things about themselves. But I have no idea who visits my blog regularly and has a blog herself (besides Fantacy, lol). So if you’re reading this and you have a blog, consider yourself tagged! :) I’d love to read it too, so leave me a comment here and I’ll come find ya!

I’ll leave you with a li’l freebie. I finally made an addition to Butterfly Frenzy. The colorswatch is slightly different from Part 1, but they should still work together.

You can download it HERE.

I hope you enjoy and I’ll TRY to get a little bit better at blogging now :)

Elements for Nostalgic Novelty

July 25, 2007

previewelements-web.jpg

This site makes my previews look horrible no matter what I do, rofl. But still I LOVE how they turned out. I feel like these are the best elements I made sofar. Lots of new stuff to me. Come to think of it, I never did any of these elements before, besides a staple. So I learned a lot from this. I would loooove to hear what you all think of it.

Here’s the link.

Last weekend I met up with the other members of the design team at Pien. They are all working on a ‘paper’ album that people can make in an all day workshop this fall. They get to make an entire 20 page album that day! I will be putting together an online workshop with a digital version of this. That means I will be making 20 (!) templates and a full kit, so that people can also make a complete album in a day right at home. I wanted to see what the team is all doing and get inspiration for the digital version by looking at the colors and materials they are using. I really look forward to this, but it also means I will be pretty busy for a while, putting this all together. Although I hope to squeeze in a couple of freebies for you every now and then. :)

Here it is!

July 20, 2007

Here’s the freebie! It’s a little late, but here nonetheless. I created a paper pack for you called Nostalgic Novelty. I thought the colors were a bit of a mix of ‘old & new’.

I will create some elements to go with it as well, but right now I just wanted to give you something!

So here’s the link.

I hope you enjoy and please leave some love if you pick it up!

Butterfly Frenzy

June 12, 2007

A few weeks ago, I took my camera into my moms garden to shoot some textures and flowers. She also has these little porcelain butterflies hanging on her fence, so I photographed those too. The other day I spent about half of my spare time trying to extract one of these butterflies from the background, so I could use it to put some goodies together. I really wanted to share this with you, so this Butterfly Frenzy kit is going to come in a series. (Though I have no idea when part two will arive, since I have more extracting to do for that.)

Here’s a preview (once again it looks terrible from downsizing…)
The butterfly has the same ratio in the preview as it has to the fullsize 12×12 papers.

Please leave some love if you download and I can’t wait to see what you do with it!

Getting better?

May 29, 2007

Wow, June hasn’t even started yet and I already seem to better my life. I was working on the Color Challenge held at SBB, but I didn’t have any papers in my collection to go with the colors for this week. So I decided to create some papers I could use and share them with you.

Here’s the layout I did with them

The sketch was provided for the challenge.

This is the little paper pack I made

Please leave a little comment if you download and have fun with it!

Yay! Another FREE kit!

May 18, 2007

First things first:
It took me long enough, but I actually have another freebie. Thanks to Chark’s Mini Kit Swap at SBB, I got my creative juices flowing again. Unfortunately, it was the last time she’s able to put together this swap, so I created this little kit as sort of a farewell bouquet for her.

You can download it here. I hope you enjoy it as well!

I’m actually getting back into things, even though it has been forever again since I posted. I might actually make the Page-A-Day challenge this month. Here’s my favourite layout I did recently

Safety Goggles

I’ve been playing with blend modes recently and also figured out how to work with scripts. I used the Sunset script by SheilSoft to create the effect in this photo.

Well, I’m off to catch up a little more on my layouts. Hope to share more soon!

Time for a freebie!

March 6, 2007

Here’s a little treat bag topper I made today. I want to use this for my sons birtday next month. (Thought I’d get a good head start, this year, LOL.) Anyway, it gives a pretty good preview of the kit I’m working on, Playful Boy, which I hope to finish soon. Aaah, soon, such a relative concept, haha!

Anyway here’s a few sample bags I did today.

And here’s the link. It’s a PNG, so you just add a picture behind it and add your text on top.

Thanks to Shabby Princess for this great idea!

I hope you have fun with it. And if this isn’t quite something you can use then come back soon for the full kit!

Here it is!

February 25, 2007

It seems like I finally have everything in place, so let’s see if I can get you my freebie! LOL

Here’s a little layout I did with the template today

on the slide

I used Mirranda Reinhardt’s kit ‘Psyched’. The font is Primer Print.

You can download the template here

The template is there in layered PSD, fullsize JPG and seperate PNG files, so take your pick of what works for you.

If you download, I would love it if you let me know what you think of it or if you show me what you did with it. Everyone says it’s awesome to see your stuff used by others and I’m ready to share that feeling!

Today I’ve just been busy getting the download ready.
Also we’ve been trying to explain a little more to our youngest, Yared, about the operation he will be having in a week. He squints pretty bad with one eye and the doctors are going to try to correct that. He is still able to look straight with it sometimes and they hope that that makes it easier for the operation to be succesful. But how much can you really explain this to a three year old? He knows the theory very well, but I’m not sure yet how well this is going to work when it’s actually happening to him, you know?
He gets a little dry practice on Tuesday. That’s when the pre-examination is. We’ll be spending about three hours at the hospital then. And guess what he’s looking forward to? Playing in the waiting room, LOL! They might have to draw a little blood then too, so that would be the REAL test.
